Department of Justice, subject to the availability of funds, intends to
purchase a 'all-or-none' maintenance agreement for its RS/6000
Enterprise Server and interfacing systems on a sole source basis,using
Simplified Acquistion Procedures FAR Part 13, from Federal Data
Corporation of Greenbelt, MD. Maintenance will be provided on the
following equipment: RS/6000 Enterprise Server, S.N. 91368; RS/6000
Enterprise Server, S.N. 91369; SSA Disk Subsystem, S.N. 25309; SSA Disk
Subsystem, S.N. 25310; SSA Disk Subsystem, S.N. 25311; IBM
Configuration, S.N. 3940; and AIX Support 8x5 full, M-F, Telephone and
Electronic contacts. Through market research DOJ has determined that
Federal Data Corporation is the only vender capable of providing all of
the requisite maintenance from one source. Responses received as a
result of this notice of intent, shall be considered solely for the
purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
Responses will not be considered as either proposals or bids. A
determination by the Government not to open this requirement to
competition, based upon the written responses to this notice, is solely
within the discretion of the Government. The anticipated period of
performance will be December 1, 1999 to September 30, 2000 with the
option to renew for subsequent periods based on mutual consent by both
parties. Responses must be received at the address shown in item 7 by
