NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES FOR DIALOG ON-DISC, STANDARD & POOR'S CORPORATION, (PRODUCT NUMBER 14992851101); AND LAN ACCESS FOR 1 TO 3 USERS (PRODUCT NUMBER LAN1N1S2851101). THE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE FOR THIS SERVICE WILL BE FOR A PERIOD NOT LESS THAN ONE YEAR WITH OPTIONS TO EXTEND THE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE FOR FOUR (4) ONE-YEAR PERIODS. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from SMS DATA PRODUCTS GROUP INC., 1501 FARM CREDIT DRIVE, MCLEAN, VA 22102-5004 THE AUTHORITY FOR THIS PROCUREMENT IS 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), COMPETITIVE NEGOTIATION IS NOT PRACTICAL. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have FIFTEEN (15) days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the FIFTEEN (15)days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
