The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) invites industry to comment on their development efforts for an air deployable digital camera sensor. The Marine Corps (MCWL) is conducting market research to seek sources, contract vehicles, technical information and approximate costing for air deployable digital camera sensors. The sensors should be deployable from an unmanned powered parafoil flying at 500 feet. Once the sensor lands it should be able to right itself and when commanded provide a 360 degree look at the area around it. This could be accomplished through the use of multiple cameras, each oriented at a different angle, or by rotating a single camera. The commands to the camera requesting it to take images have to be sent via a RF link. Once the digital photos are taken, the sensor must transmit the images back to a hovering unmanned vehicle. This request is for information only. Interested companies may submit a data package and/or by arrangement, provide a not to exceed 60 minute brief atthe Laboratory. Vendors are requested to provide specifications and data on current applicable sensors and proposed future developments (available within 6 months).
