C -- EMERGENCY POWER UPGRADE SOL 558-34-00 DUE 112299 POC Berma Norris 919/286-6915 Request Architect/Engineer Services to provide working drawings, specifications and cost estimate at 50% and 100% design stages for converting items from normal power to emergency power. Work involves: The project will install necessary branch circuits, wiring and transformers to increase the capacity of emergency electrical circuits. Also included is the rewiring of the computer room Liebert unit, medical gas alarms, F-wing elevators, fire pump, automatic egress doors, security camera system, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, and miscellaneous critical power and lighting from normal to emergency power. All work to be performed for this project must meet all National Fire Protection Association (NFPA); Nationl Electric Code (NEC); Underwriters Laboratory Inc. (UL); Federal, State and Local regulations and codes; and JCAHO standards and guidelines. Design to be accomplished using AutoCAD Release 14 or compatible format. Design and cost estimates tobe in compliance with "Book 2, A/E Submission for Conceptual Drawings, Preliminary Drawings, Working Drawings and Cost Estimates to the VA" (green booklet). Site surveys to verify VAMC furnished drawings to indicate actual conditions and locations. All items and measurements of as-built drawings pertaining to this project must be verified by the A/E. Estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $250,000. All interested firms are required to submit their 254 and 255 no later than close of business (4:30 PM) on November 22, 1999.
