The government intends to extend the current Contract No. F41612-92-S0001 with Scheduled Airlines Traffic Offices (SATO), 1005 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22201, to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items or services necessary to perform management and operations of commercial travel offices located at Sheppard AFB TX, Altus AFB OK, and Vance AFB OK. The extension will be from 1 Jan 2000 through 30 Sep 2000, at which time the services are subsumed into the DoD-wide Commercial Travel Office (CTO) contract. The DoD-wide contract wil be solicited under full and open competition. SATO is the one and only contractor who is in place and ARC -licensed to provide temporary services in a timely fashion without disruption until the requirement is rolled into the DoD-wide CTO contract. Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, due to the very short period of performance.
