The supplier of the original system, Shane-Gelling Company of Seacliff, NY, engineered, installed, and developed the proprietary software and components pertaining to this post-wide CIDS. The CIDS is a computerized post-wide electronic security system providing intrusion detection, communication, alarm monitoring, assessment and data recording at 525 locations, with alarm monitoring performed centrally at the Provost Marshal Office. The system was designed, manufactured and installed by shane-Gelling Company, who is the only supplier of specific controlling hardware items and software for the system. The contractor must maintain the Shane-Gelling Company developed hardware and software, and provide parts manufactured solely by Shane-Gelling Company. Technical data is not available. Software is proprietary to Shane-Gelling Company. The SIC code is 7382 and the small business size standard is $9.0 million. This acquisition will be conducted under FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items, FAR Part 12, Commercial Item Acquisition, Section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996 and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1).
