The Naval Oceanographic Office intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order, utilizing simplified acquisition procedures (under FAR Part 13.5) to Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI), 4041 Powder Mill Road, Calverton, Maryland 20705-3106 for renewal of software support services, under SGI OSCARE Program, for support of SGI software on approximately 83 NAVOCEANO owned SGI high-end graphics processing systems for the FY2000 period. The required support services include unlimited telephone technical assistance, real time dial-in support and analysis, software updates and upgrades for all licenses, and documentation updates. The basis for this proposed non-competitive action is that there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the requirements of this Command.
