The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is soliciting offers for a firm fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to purchase firearms (handguns) for use by VA Police Officers at selected VA facilities nationwide. The solicitation document will be ready for release on or about October 25, 1999. The VA has a need for the 9mm semiautomatic pistol. The pistol shall have the following safety features as a minimum; (1) double action only (DAO); (2) have a magazine disconnect type safety; be constructed of a durable material with a finish that is highly resistant to corrosion.
