PRELIMINARY NOTICE OF CONTRACT CONSTRUCTION A project on Forest Highway 184, Bear River Road (Project Number PFH 184-1(1) is tentatively scheduled for advertising in early 2000. This advanced notice is being given because weather and site conditions may prevent viewing at the time of advertising for bids. The project is located approximately 53 km (33 miles) northeast of Jackson, California in Amador County. This project starts at the intersection of State Highway 88 and Forest Highway 184 and extends southeast to the west end of the Lower Bear River Reservoir dam. This project consists of reconstruction of 3.5 km of Forest Highway 184. The work consists of grading, drainage and paving, including: 34,000 cubic meters of excavation; 12,500 metric tons of aggregate base; 5,600 metric tons of aspahltic concrete pavement; 600 meters of culvert pipe; 650 meters of guardrail; 8 hectares of clearing and grubbing; associated survey and staking; and traffic control. A project showing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 3, 1999. Plans and specifications will be available for review at the project showing. Potential bidders should meet at 10:00a.m. local time at the Lower Bear River Reservoir dam.
