Scope of the project: A/E services for the preparation of construction documents in the upgrade of the interior finishes of the basement corridor in Building 1 West and to extend the existing loading dock. The design shall include structural work associated with the loading dock extensions, underground utilities in the loading dock vicinity which must be dealt with, and interior finishes in the corridors floor, walls, ceilings) to be upgraded. The A/E shall produce a phasing plan for the area to assure continued operations during construction. Selection will be based on: Experience with similar types of contracts with VA, other Government agencies and other hospitals; professional qualifications of the staff to be assigned to the project; professional capacity of the firm to accomplish proposed work within scheduled time frames; past performance; and, location of firm with respect to the Ann Arbor VA. Construction cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. The SIC for construction will be 1542 General Construction and A/E 8712 Architectural Services.
