Postal Service intends to award one or more Indefinite Quantity
Architect/Engineer contracts for design, document preparation and
contract administration of individual projects at USPS owned and/or
leased facilities throughout the South Georgia area. Project types
include site adaptation of USPS CADD based standard plans for new
facilities, expansions to existing facilities, and larger repair and
alteration projects. The contract for architect-engineer services will
be for two years with a guaranteed minimum amount of $5,000. The
contract may be renewed for three one-year periods. Work orders for any
one project cannot exceed $250,000. The total contract amount cannot
exceed $5,000,000. The primary user of this contract will be the
Facilities Service Office located in Atlanta, GA. This contract is to
cover the southern portion of the State of Georgia; however, it may be
used occasionally within other areas of the southeastern United
States. Firms that have the qualifications to perform the services
described herein are invited to submit two (2) copies each of completed
SF 255 "Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for
Specific Project" and SF 254 "Architect-Engineer and Related Services
Questionnaire" for itself and for each of its proposed consultants to
the office shown above not later than November 10, 1999. The selection
will be conducted with the combined use of the submitted SF 255 and SF
254. Interested firms with more than one office must indicate on its SF
255 the staffing composition of the office in which the work will be
performed. Firms must have a minimum of two registered architects, have
a minimum of two years Autocadd experience, and must be able to provide
the services of at least one of each of the following disciplines (each
registered in Georgia): mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil
engineering. Any of the engineering disciplines may be provided through
outside consultant firms. Consideration will be given to firms
responding to this advertisement inaccordance with foregoing
requirements in the following order of preference: (1) within the South
Georgia area based on an imaginary line drawn horizontally through
Macon dividing the state; (2) State of Georgia; and (3) out of State.
There is no restriction on the geographical location of consultants.
Firms must provide proof of or demonstrate the ability to obtain errors
and omissions insurance, minimum of $200,000 per claim, with submittals
(two copies). It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage,
or brokerage fee to any person or firm contingent upon, or resulting
from, award of these contract. No other general notification of this
project will be made. Submittals will not be retained or returned. This
is not a request for proposals. ONLY OFFERS SUBMITTED BY U S POSTAL
SERVICE OR HAND DELIVERED WILL BE CONSIDERED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THIS
SOLICITATION. SUBMITTALS RECEIVED BY ANY OTHER FORM OF DELIVERY WILL BE
