BALLISTIC MISSILE REQUIREMENTS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND BRIEFING FOR INDUSTRY The Air Force provides this REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) inviting industy to suggest concepts for ICBM systems, subsystems, facilities, operational employment, and supporting technologies that can be factored into detailed planning for future acquisition activities. Industry responses to the RFI will be treated as supporting information for the on-going ICBM Long Range Requirements Planning Ballistic Missile Requirement (BMR) study and not as part of a formal proposal. The BMR study addresses future ballistic missile requirements, both nuclear and conventional, for the current through the 2040 time frame. Limit RFI responses to five page unclassified non-proprietary white papers. White papers should include as a minimum, a concept description, system capabilities and enabling technologies. Current studies are focusing on below-ground silo-based solutions. However, white papers are due to the address below not later than 15 December 99. To further define requirements and answer industry questions, Air Force Space Command and the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) System Program Office, in conjunction with other government agencies will host a BMR BRIEFING FOR INDUSTRY (BMR) on 10 November 99 in Building 1 Auditorium at Peterson AFB, CO, 0800 to 1200. The briefing will familiarize interested industrial organizations with recent studies that address likely requirements for ICBM developments, deployments, and operations through 2040 time frame. The meeting includes an opportunity for those attending to submit questions, request clarification and receive answers to these queries. Presentations will be tailored to provide the background information ncecessary to develop white papers in response to the BMR RFI discussed above. The BMR BFI will be held at the overall SECRET security classification level; persons attending must posses a SECRET clearance. Those wishing to learn more about future ICBM requirements may send their visit request to HQ AFSPC/DRM, 150 Vandenberg Street.
