COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 7,1999 PSA#245026TH ENVIRONMENTAL SYMPOSIUM AND EXHIBITION The National Defense
Industrial Association, (NDIA) will conduct its 26th Environmental
Symposium and Exhibition on March 27-30, 2000 at the Long Beach
Convention Center, Long Beach California. The theme for the symposium
"Sustaining DoD Readiness: Changes and Challenges in DoD Environmental
Priorities", focuses on the impact of the DoD Activities on the global
environment and the ever important issues related to "Sustaining DoD
Readiness". The Association has announced a call for papers from
government, industry, academic and friendly foreign nations. The
symposium will provide a national forum for the exchange of technical
information; government policy, regulations, programs and law; and new
ideas on environmental issues and areas of concern. NDIA also invites
organizations to display products and services at the 2000 Exhibition.
These topics will be presented for review and discussion via this forum
which serves as the platform through government/industry interactions
and inputs to the DoD decisionmakers regarding policy development,
funding and practical implementation. The program will include senior
speakers from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Service
Secretariats and the Services that are involved in developing
environmental programs and funding. Included will be over thirty
technical tracks with six papers per track, multiple service workshops
and over two hundred exhibits/displays and posters from government and
