COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 7,1999 PSA#245019-FLOATING DOCK SYSTEMS FOR U.S. COAST GUARD, FIRST DISTRICT The U. S.
Coast Guard is requesting product information on floating docks. The
floating dock system should be able to be moored in a minimum water
depth of 4'. Maximum freeboard under dead load alone is 24". Freeboard
of 0" must be maintained under a minimum live load of 90psf. The
system should be able to withstand the stresses of a non-breaking wave
with a height of 3 feet and a period from 1 to 2.5 seconds both with
and without a moored vessel alongside. System must be able to
accommodate various sizes and shapes of vessels with the maximum vessel
having a length of 110', beam of 21' and displacement of 165 long tons.
System must be able to accommodate electrical, sewage, and fuel
shoreties and pile or anchor mooring systems. The system must have been
in satisfactory use for a minimum of 3 years in a salt-water
environment in cold weather climates. Interested sources should provide
company name, address, phone number and point of contact, and product
literature including photographs and descriptionsof successful
applications. Materials and product information shall be submitted to
the U. S. Coast Guard, CEU Providence, 300 Metro Center Blvd., Warwick,
RI 02886, Attn: Contracting Officer, Mrs. Jean Bretz. All responses are
to be received at the Contracting Office, no later than 5 November
1999. Technical inquiries will only be addressed if received in writing

returned. The U.S. Coast Guard reserves the right to schedule oral
