Solicitation number 99Q081 will be issued as a request for quotes. This is a 100% small business set aside. The SIC code is 7699, Repair Shops and Related Services, and the small business size standard is 5.09 million. The United States Secret Service has a requirement for the performance of monthly preventative maintenance inspections for two (2) diesel powered emergency generators and associated transfer switch equipment and the provision of 24 hour, 7 days a week emergency repair service for selected facilities located at the James J. Rowley Training Center at 9200 Powder Mill Road, Laurel, Maryland. The contractor shall develop a preventative maintenance ("PM") program in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's specifications to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the designated equipment and components. Access clearances will be required for all personnel working on the site. Thecontractor will be required to submit information on US Government Form 1888 for background investigation to obtain security clearances for contractor's personnel. The contract period of performance will be on or about October 1, 1999 for a 12-month period with four (4) one-year renewal options. The Government intends to award a firm, fixed price contract, to the offeror whose proposal is technically acceptable, and whose cost ant technical merit relationship represent the best value to the Government.
