Acquisition Activity has a requirement to provide task order services
in support of the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious
Diseases, Fort Detrick, MD for a 12-month base year and four each
potential 12-month option periods. The contractor will be required to
provide the following representative types of services: protein
sequencing, cloning, sub-cloning and characterization; development of
human and murine hybridomas, antibody production: vector
reconstruction, sequencing and library screening; site-directed
mutagenesis; gene synthesis and/or cloning; ELISA development, assay of
human/animal antibodies and viral/bacterial antigens; expression in
eucaryotic (including yeast)/procaryotic systems; purification of
expressed proteins; eucaryotic cytotoxicity and receptor binding
assays; and other related tasks. Acceptance standards for final product
will include, as appropriate, greater than 95% purity as determined by
SDS-PAGE and N-terminal analysis. This requirement is open to large
and small business concerns. The SIC Code is 8731. If you are a large
business and your proposal will equal or exceed $500,000, you will be
required to submit a Small and Small Disadvantaged Business
Subcontracting Plan. RFP DAMD17-00-R-0001 is estimated to be issued on
or about 27 October 1999. Proposals are due 45 days after issue date.
