The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Unisys Corporation, 8008 Westpark Drive, McLean, VA, 22102 for renewal of software licenses and hardware maintenance for the UNISYS 2200/400 mainframe. The period of performance is from October 1, 1999 through December 31, 1999. This system is required to maintain the database for Federal communications spectrum usages. This is a critical mission and is performed by National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). UNISYS Corporation is the only source that can provide hardware support for this systems because it is proprietary software. There is no other source that is license to sell or maintain this software. The primary part of this contract is (approximately 82%) for renewal of UNISYS licenses. This system is almost ten years old. The proposed contractor, UNYSIS Corporation has previously provided these services (Reference Order 50SBNT8C1076) for the software licenses and hardware maintenance. Requests for a copy of a solicitation package will be disregarded. No solicitation package will be issued. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued to UNISYS Corporation. The Contractor must be able to meet all the requirements stated herein. The anticipated award date of the contract is on or around September 30, 1999.
