THE WORK CONSIST OF INSTALLING A NEW BLUE STANDING SEAM METAL ROOF SYSTEM WHICH WILL COVER APPROXIMATELY 50,900 SQUARE FEET FOR BUILDING 4705. THE ROOFING SYSTEM WILL ALLOW FOR EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION AND PROVIDE FOR A ONE-FOOT EAVE OVERHANG. NEW FLASHING, GUTTER, AND DOWNSPOUTS ARE REQUIRED ALONG WITH ONE ROOF ACCESS HATCH AND A NEW SAFETY CAGED LADDER. REMOVAL AND DEPOSAL OF ROOF GRAVEL AND NINETEEN EXISTING OLD SQUARE ROOF VENTILATORS AND HOOD ARE REQUIRED. MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL WORK CONSIST OF PROVIDING AND INSTALLING NINETEEN NEW POWER VENTILATORS WITH MOTOR OPERATED DAMPERS AND RAISING THREE EXISTING POWER VENTILATORS FROM THE EXISTING ROOF TO THE NEW ROOF. NEW ELECTRICAL SERVICE FOR THE TWENTY-TWO POWER VENTILATORS CONSISTS OF NEW MOTOR STARTERS, PUSHBUTTON SWITCHES AND WIRING. ALL REQUEST FOR IFB MUST BE IN WRITING, STATING A COMPLETE COMPANY NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE AND FAX NUMBER. ALL REQUEST MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A CAHSIER'S CHECK MADE PAYABLE TO "NASA CASHIER". RELEASE OF THE IFB IS CONTINGENT UPON THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. The order of magnitude for the procurement is BETWEEN $500,000.00-$1,000,000.00 and the effort shall be completed within 360 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small busines size standard for this procurement are 1761 and 7M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about OCTOBER 15, 1999 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about NOVEMBER 20, 1999. The provisions and clauses in the solicitation are those in effect through FAC 97 -- 13. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB.
