COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 20,1999 PSA#2435SP -- SPACE TRANSPORTATION DAY Marshall Space Flight Center will hold
Space Transportation Day (STDay) on October 27-28, 1999 at the Von
Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The event will start at 8:30 AM
with badging/check-in at 7:30AM on October 27, 1999. The purpose of
STDay is to provide an interactive dialogue on NASA's future plans and

X-34, X-37, ASTP.) For more information and to register for STDay,
logon the World Wide Web (www) at http://stday.msfc.nasa.gov by October
18, 1999. Background: the US space program is facing a growing
challenge to its decades-long, global leadership position, as current
launch costs consume valuable resources and limit achievements in
science, exploration, and commercial development. To enable NASA to
conduct better, faster, and cheaper programs; and, the commercial
sector to flourish in space endeavors; the primary, overarching,
continuing goal of NASA's space transportation programs is to
significanlty increase the saftey and reliability of space
transportation while dramatically reducing the cost of space
transportation systems. WEB: Click here for the latest information
