It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to negotiate on a sole source basis with Brahler ICS USA, Suite 5, 202 Perry Parkway, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877 for a new conference control system with new microphones for each desk position. The Brahler product is the only one that can meet the following requirements: 1). The delegate loudspeaker shall have a speaker that is 3.5 inches in diameter and have a magnet structure weighing a minimum of 3.75 ounces to ensure high fidelity, low distortion performance; 2). The unit microphone shall be on a flexible gooseneck with double suspended electret capsule for reduced handling noise; 3). The system software shall provide a graphic representation of the switchboard control units, and; 4). The delegate system shall have the capability of being operated from multiple locations with portable, connectorized, switchboard style control panels or LAN networkable generic computers. Firms interested in responding to this notice must submit as part of their response clear and convincing documentation of their ability to meet the Government's requirements.
