SUBJECT: Intent to Award/Negotiate Sole Source Contract DESCRIPTION:
The U.S. Air Force intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) purchase
order to EMP Trexcom, 20360 Plummer St., Chatsworth, CA 91311-5371 for
the purchase of an Antenna Control Unit system as follows: -- (1)
Antenna Control Unit (CPU only), model # ACU-8, qty 2 ea; (2) Radio
Frequency (RF) fiber optic tray, includes RF fiber transmit assembly,
RF fiber receive assembly, and RF amplifier assembly, model # RFFOT,
qty 4 ea; (3) Control fiber optic PCB (single mode), model # CFOPCBSM,
qty 4 ea; (4) Video fiber optic transceiver (single mode), model #
VFOTSM, qty 2 ea; (5) Enclosure, environmentally sealed, including all
necessary interface cabling, model # ESE, qty 2 ea; (6) Enviromental
Control Unit, model # ECU, qty 2 ea; (7) On site support, one EMP
Trexcom engineer, perform installation of both systems. The system must
meet the following requirements: (a) Utilize the existing EMP model
ACU-21 antenna control units as the user interface devices for both
existing EMP model 100 antenna systems. All hardware and software must
be completely compatible in form, fit, and function with the existing
antennas control units. (b) Installation and testing of both systems,
once begun, must be completed within one week. (c) Provide an
antenna-fiber optic interface point within 100 feet of each antenna.
Provide equipment at this interface point to relay commands for all
antenna functions to the antenna and pedestal, and to relay all
necessary antenna signals and receive RF signals (two per antenna, L or
S bands) via optical fiber to the remote location. (d) Protect all new
equipment installed outdoors from high winds (up to 120 miles per
hour), extreme humidity (up to 100%), and and extreme temperatures
(zero to 150 deg F) waterproof, environmentally controlled enclosure.
(e) Provide proper training in systems operation and maintenance to
83rd FWS personnel. -- This award will be made using simplified
acquisition procedures. No solicitation is available. Interested
parties may identify their interest and capabilities to respond to the
requirement or submit proposals. This notice is not a request for
competitive proposal. All proposals received within 10 days after the
date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the
Government, A determination by the Government not to compete proposed
contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the
discretion of the Government. The Contracting officer may be contacted
