Battelle Memorial Institute, Pacific Northwest Division, which operates the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) for the U. S. Department of Energy, is seeking expressions of interest from domestic companies to electroplate nickel on the inside and outside diameters of small diameter zircaloy-4 tubing, less than 18 inches long, for use in a commercial nuclear reactor. The plating specification is based on ASTM B 689. This work will require the potential offeror to possess a quality program consistent with the requirements defined in 10CFR50 Appendix B. A quality program based upon ISO 9000 or Military Standards may be considered suitable if offeror's program can be supplemented to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix B. Interested firms are advised this work will involve classified matter. The successful offeror must be able to obtain a favorable Foreign Ownership, Control or Influence determination before classified related activities begin. Also, appropriate facility and personnel security clearances will be required before performance of work associated with classified matters.
