The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst (NAWCADLKE) intends to enter into a sole source negotiations with Boeing Defense & Space Co. The required item is in support of the F/A 18 aircraft. The Magnetoelastic Inspection Set P/N 74D130509-1001 is a upgrade kit for Inspection Se P/N 74T069681-1001, which is used to perform non-destructive inspection (NDI) of main landing gear components of the F/A18 aircraft. Required date of delivery is 23 Sep 1999. NAWCADLKE intends to procure this item, quantity two (2) each, under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. The Government does not own the rights to the Magnetoelastic Inspection Set. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition base upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
