Marine Repair Work includes repair and reinforce the existing revetment by resetting loose and displaced 2 to 4 ton armor stone (120 ea.) and replace the damaged or destroyed portions of the revetment with larger stone (1 1/2 ton armor) sections 12 to 24 feet wide for approximately 2231 LF. Site Repair Work includes replace the 1520 linear feet of destroyed walkway with new asphalt walkway, replace the pedestrian barrier, resurface 1200 LF of remaining asphalt walkway, install 4 paved handicapped parking slots and access ramp to walkway at north end of parking area, and rebuild the stone parking area (2000 SY). Remove approximately 5000 CY of stone, sand and debris covering portions of the project area. Fill in 50' wide gap between the Riggins and the end of the revetment with 2600 CY of sand. Add a drainage pipe (18" diameter PVC) under new fill to carry off U.S. 421 and Riggins' parking lot drainage. Replace destroyed trash containers and support posts (6), replace destroyed benches (7), replace washed out sand (4600 CY), replace landscaping. Work must be completed within 180 calendar days after contractor receipt of Notice to Proceed. Estimated cost range of the project is $1,000,000 -- $5,000,000. Advertising date is scheduled for 24 September 1999 with bid opening on/about 25 October 1999.Plans and specifications are $50.00 per set and will be available on/about 24 SEP 1999.
