It is the Government's intent to make a sole source award to FATS, Inc. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, a Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition has been certified, justified and approved. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is DEA-99-R- 0046; award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. The synopsis/solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the FAR Circular 97-11. The standard industrial classification code(SIC) is 3699 and the small business size is 750. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is seeking to procure the following: Upgrade of thirteen-(13) DEA owned FATS machines. Various models, components, and accessories are located at various field locations. The provision at 52.212-1, "Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial items" is applicable to this acquisition. The provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications- Commercial Items, is applicable to this acquisition. The clause at FAR 52.212.4, "Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items is applicable to this acquisition. The clause at FAR 52-212-5, "Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items" (tailored) apply to this acquisition: (a)(1) and (a)(2). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.
