SEAMLESS WOVEN BEAMS Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Materiel Command Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to place a purchase order on a sole source basis with Federal Fabrics-Fibers, Inc., 121 Marie Drive, Andover, MA 01863 for fabrication of 2 scale model beams as follows: The contractor will fabricate two scale model beams as follows: a) single woven seamless beam-two seamless beams 18 inches in diameter by 40 feet long with hinge; b) two seamless woven beam arrays, each array consisting of 7 (seven) beams. Each beam will be 6 inches in diameter by 40 feet long. Scale model beams will be used to verify analytical calculations for a C state 3 breakwater system. The Contractor is the only known source for these services and has developed a unique circular weaving capability. Interested parties who contend that they are capable of providing these services/items are required to submit a proposal within 15 days from the publication of this notice. Specific factual data, product literature, and other pertinent information, which demonstrates their capability in providing these services shall be submitted to the above address, Attention: Mr. Thomas Bouchard (AMSSB-ACN-S) and the information submitted will be used as an evaluation basis to determine competence to successfully meet the requirements. All proposals received within the 15 day notice period will be considered by the Government. The Government reserves the right not to open this requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice. Technical responses and requests received, as a result of this Notice of Intent, will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
