of the Commander IMPORTANT NOTICE To all Vendors, Contractors, and
Governmental Agencies Effective 1 October 1999, all individuals,
businesses, and governmental entities doing business with the U.S. Army
Contracting Command Europe will be required to: 1. Have a valid and
active DUNS (Dun & Bradstreet) number 2. Register in the CCR (Central
Contractor Registration) Data Base (US Vendors Only) 3. Obtain a CAGE
(Contractor and Government Entity) Code 4. Provide a Tax Identification
Number (US Firms)/Value Added Tax Exemption number (All Non-US Firms).
On or about 1 November 1999, this office will be implementing a new
computer system for the contracting functions. Any entity currently in
our vendor database will NOT be converted to the new computer system
unless they have obtained a CAGE code. This is a mandatory requirement
being executed by the Department of Defense of the United States of
America. A listing of Dun & Bradstreet offices can be found on the
Internet at: http://www.dnb.com/customer/custlist.htm After obtaining
your DUNS number, you can register in the CCR at:
http://www.ccr2000.com Registration in the CCR Data Base can be
accomplished via the Internet and will automatically assign a CAGE code
to your firm if you are a US Vendor. However, you will need to obtain
a DUNS number from Dun & Bradstreet prior to registration in the CCR.
If you are a non-US Firm, you must obtain your NATO Contractor and
Government Entity (NCAGE) code by contacting the following offices:
Contractors in the following countries may request a NATO CAGE Code
directly from the Codification Bureau in their respective country.

go through the Canadian Commercial Corp.in Ottawa, Ontario. Phone
613-996-0034. Spain and Italy contractors must forward their requests
to the United States who will then direct the request to the
appropriate office in whichever country is applicable. Contractors
outside of the countries noted above shall also direct their request to

616-961-5305 For processing purposes, the Codification Bureaus require
the following information: Name of company/manufacturer; complete
address for each location/address that may receive a direct contract to
do business with the US Government, telephone and fax number, e-mail
address, if possible, and information whether the code is required for
CCR registration. If the NCAGE code is required for CCR registration,
the Codification Bureau office will forward the code they assign
including pertinent data to the Defense Logistics Information Service
(DLIS) in Battle Creek, Michigan, for inclusion in the US data base.
When you have successfully registered in the CCR data base and/or have
obtained your NCAGE code, you can either print your CCR registration
form from the internet (preferred method) or send this office a letter
on your firm's letterhead with the requested CAGE Code(s), TIN/VAT
Number, DUNS numbers and the Commodities/Services in which you are
interested in offering to the US Army Contracting Command Europe.
