D -- FURNISH AND INSTALL TELEPATHOLOGY SYSTEMS SOL 69D-401-99 DUE 090899 POC Michael Cunningham, Contracting Officer, 414-902-5407 The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Apollo Software Inc. of Falls Chucrch VA for the purchase and installation of Telepatholgy Systems for 7 VA Medical Centers in Wisconsin, the Chicago IL Metropolitan Area, and Iron Mountain MI. Apollo Software Inc is considered to be a sole source because theirs is the only system with a dynamically remote-controlled microscope. Other systems are static and do not permit the remote user to move up and down and in and out on a pathology slide. Also, it will be compatible with other telemedicine systems previously purchased from Apollo for some of these same medical centers. Other firms who believe they can meet the needs of the VA must provide information about their systems by no later than September 8, 1999 at 3:00 PM.
