The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking LIDAR (light detection and ranging) sensor data with post processing into a DEM (digital elevation model) format for the Provo Reservoir Canal and it's adjacent areas. The Provo Reservoir Canal is located in and around the vicinity of Orem, Utah. The canal is about 23 miles long. Data is required along the entire length of the canal and extending laterally for 1 mile on the west side of the canal centerline. Total project area is roughly 23 square miles. LIDAR data will be acquired using aircraft mounted sensor instrumentation. Data collection and post-processing techniques must incorporate first and last laser pulse discrimination to support true ground height and feature elevations such as trees, buildings, and other planimetric features. All collected data must be processed to remove anomalies prior to the creation of the DEM. LIDAR data will have a minimum horizontal accuracy of 1 meter RMSE and a minimum vertical accuracy of 30 centimeters RMSE. Project DEM will have a cell spacing of 1 meter and will conform to the National Mapping Program's "Standards for Digital Elevation Models". Laser ground point sampling is required to have a maximum spacing 10 feet. Ortho rectified and geo-referenced high-resolution digital panchromatic images, created from data collected simultaneously with the LIDAR imagery, is to be included as part of this package. All data shall be projected in UTM meters with an NAD 27 datum. Data must be collected during dry weather conditions and with no appreciable snow cover on the ground.
