16-95CV-99. Previous sysnosis notices appeared on 7/30/99 and 8/19/99.
The following questions have been received in response to these
notices: A. The solicitation calls for a roof penetration kit for the
stack. (1) Is there an existing roof over the concrete pad at the site?
RESPONSE: There is an existing roof over the concrete pad but
Government personnel will remove it and reinstall a new one. (2) If so,
do we need to install the incinerator with the roof in place? RESPONSE:
The new unit can be installed with no roof in place. Contractor must
provide a crane and crane operator. (3) If so, who is responsible for
relocating the stack penetration if it is not the same location for the
new incinerator? RESPONSE: See response to question (1). B. Who is
responsible for demolition and disposal of the existing incinerator?
RESPONSE: The contractor must remove the old incinerator from the pad.
It can be set off to the side. The Government will surplus or dispose
of the old incinerator. The date set for receipt of proposals is
September 1, 1999. All offers shall be sent to the USDA, Agricultural
Research Service, ATTN: Rita Abeyta, Contracting Officer, 800 Buchanan
Street, Room 2021, Albany, CA 94710. Faxed offers will not be
accepted. All offers must be received by 4:00 p.m. local time, Albany,
CA. Offers must include descriptive literature for the equipment being
proposed. Contractors must acknowledge Amendment No. One which was
posted to the CBD on 8/19/99 and Amendment No. Two which is being
