66 -- INTEGRATED CELLULAR IMAGING AND ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL RECORDING SYSTEM SOL RFQ90181 DUE 090799 POC Debbie Moore, Purchasing Agent, 301-402-4509 The National Cancer Institute (NCI), on behalf of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), intends to procure on a sole-source basis, an Integrated Cellular Imaging and Electrophysiological Recording System, from Axon Instruments, Inc.. The NINDS investigator believes that the aforementioned instrument and organization is the only source that can satisfy their requirement. The imaging system shall perform the following functions: shall be an integrated system making both electrophysiological and cellular ion concentration measurements simultaneously (electrophysiology and imaging applications shall share the same data, in a common window); temporal accuracy between the electrophysiology and the imaging applications shall be guaranteed (imaging applications shall be capable of sending a signal to the electrophysiology applications to begin acquiring data, or vice versa); shall be compatible and work with existing, Government-owned, Axon equipment; the new system shall be installed in the laboratory and integrated with the existing electrophysiology equipment by Application Scientists who are trained in both imaging and electrophysiological applications; shall include the following: digital CCD camera system, computer, software and integration, light source and accessories, microscope adapters, installation and on-site training. The Contractor shall provide a Year 2000 Warranty for each hardware, software, and firmware product delivered. The award will be in the aggregate for all items listed herein. This is not a request for competitive quotation, however, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. Information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail, to allow NCI to determine if the party can meet the requirement.
