Center for Mental Health Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Administration (SAMHSA) through the Program Support Center, General
Acquisitions Branch, intends to award a sole source simplified
acquisition to National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP), New
York, NY. This requirement is for research in mental health problems in
low-income families. This project will review the literature about
changes in welfare and other social programs, the mental health status
of low-income women, and consequences of maternal depression for their
children. It will also evaluate evidence on screening and treatment
issues as they relate to low- income women and their children. It will
provide new data, to be analyzed, to fill gaps in the literature about
the distribution of depression in subgroups of low-income women. There
