The Office of Policy and Program Coordination/SAMHSA through the General Acquisitions Branch/PSC intends to award a sole source Simplified Acquisition to Lev Sverdlov, Ph.D., Med Sci.D. to develop curricula and training materials for primary care providers in Russia and the Newly Independent States (NIS) on substance abuse prevention that are relevant to the culture, orientation and background of the Russian primary care provider. The period of performance shall be five months. The contractor shall identify concepts, approaches and documents requiring special adjustment, modification or explanation to make them culturally relevant to Russian primary care providers while keeping the Russian version true to the American original. The Contractor shall attend the American International Health Alliance conference in Washington, D.C. in November, 1999 with Russian primary care providers to secure input and revise chapters and related materials. Contractor shall secure Comprehensive comments in both Englishand Russian, as well as develop a graphic computer design of the text. The anticipated award date is September 2, 1999.
