The U.S. Army Soldier, Biological Chemical Command's -- Natick Soldier Center (USASBCCOM-NSC) proposes to enter into a sole source contract action with Instron Corp. of Canton, MA. This proposed contract action is for a commercial item for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Request for an environmental chamber to be used for testing of state of the art ballistic laminate, combat helmets, spider silk, composites, plastics, treasury fibers, threads, fabrics, zippers, hook/loop, other closures, biodegradable films, end-items, MVTR's and to replicate any environmental conditions while conducting tensile, compression, cyclic, flexure, bonding, peeling or any form of test to determine physical properties.
