parnhamje@wsmr.army.mil. The proposed requirement is a competitive 8(a)
acquisition restricted to the New Mexico geographical area. Offers from
other than eligible 8(a) contractors within the State of New Mexico
will not be considered. The proposed contract will be a firm
fixed-priced indefinite delivery/quantity multi-task contract for
repair, maintenance, and minor construction. Performance will consist
of a two (2) year base period with two (2) option periods. The first
option will be for a period of two (2) years. The second and final
option period will be for three (3) years. The contract is to provide
expeditious execution of task/delivery orders for installation support
to include incidental engineering and office design, site clearing,
building renovation, earthwork, site drainage. Repair and replacement
of fences, roofs, sidings, gas lines, water lines, sewer lines, roads,
pavements, underground storage tanks, cast in place concrete, brick
masonry, block and tile masonry, structural metal, metal joist,
decking, pipe and fittings, plumbing devices and fixtures, fire
extinguishing systems, fire alarm systems, intrusion detection systems
and equipment. Repair and replacement of high efficiency heating, air
conditioning and ventilating equipment systems, ducts and controls.
Electrical work, consisting of electrical boxes and wiring devices,
starters, breaker panels, high efficiency lighting with electronic
ballast, electrical distribution systems, switching devices and
transformers, primary and secondary power systems, lightning
protection, and static ground testing. Renovation consisting of rough
and finish carpentry, built in cabinets and furniture, sheet metal
work, doors, windows and glazing, window coverings, entrances and store
fronts, lath and plaster, drywall, painting and wall covering, floor
tile and carpeting. Asbestos abatement/disposal and other hazardous
material removal and disposal from facilities located at White Sands
Missile Range, New Mexico. Contractors must have a minimum of three (3)
years experience and posses the appropriate state and local licenses.
Additional Contractor capability requirement will require professional
degreed engineers or architects in accordance with Chapter 61, Article
23, New Mexico Statues Annotated 1978 for incidental engineering design
analysis. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this
procurement action is 1542, "General Contractors-Nonresidential
Buildings, Other Than Industrial Buildings and Warehouses" ($17.0
million). Release of the solicitation is expected on or about 30 Aug 99
with a closing date thirty (30) days thereafter. A pre-proposal/site
visit will be scheduled to familiarize potential offerors with the
Government's requirements. Multiple awards are contemplated for this
requirement. Pursuant to FAR 36.204 the estimated magnitude of base
period of performance minimum value is between $1,000,000. and
$5,000,000. The maximum value of the base period is more than
