COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 16,1999 PSA#2410PAPERLESS SOLICITATIONS/IMPLEMENTATION OF FACNET Attention contractors
doing business with the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC).
Commencing August 27, 1999, DSCC will discontinue mailing paper copies
of solicitations below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT).
Solicitations will be available electronically through the DLA
Procurement Gateway at http://progate.daps.mil, the DSCC website at
"www.dscccols.com", or through FACNET (current third party, commercial
methods of receiving solicitation information are not affected). The
DLA Procurement Gateway provides ease of access to all DLA
solicitations below the SAT, and contains an on-line profile building
feature that provides users an email notification of solicitations
matching their profile. If you are interested in only DSCC
solicitations, the DSCC website provides flexible search options,
including a full text search, for all DSCC Request for Quotations
(RFQs) in an html format. For FACNET, contractors need only sign up
with a DoD approved Value Added Network (VAN), register with the
Central Contractor Registration, and specify which types of
procurements they are interested in. Regardless of how solicitations
are accessed, the only acceptable method for submitting electronic
responses to DSCC is the DSCC Electronic Bid Board (EBB). Since access
to DSCC solicitations valued between $25,000 and $100,000 will be
available via FACNET, notices for these actions will no longer be
synopsized in the Commerce Business Daily (see FAR 5.202(a)(13)).
Points of contact for technical issues are rsarkissian@disc.dla.mil
(Procurement Gateway) and ebb_help@dscc.dla.mil (DSCC RFQ website and
DSCC EBB). A list of approved VANs is available at
http://www.acq.osd.mil/ec/ecip/van_html. Posted 08/12/99 (W-SN366732). Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0641 19990816\SP-0005.MSC)
