and Human Services, Office of Minority Health, plans to award a sole
source simplified acquisition to Northern Virginia Area Health
Education Center. The contractor operates the only multi-lingual,
community-based health care interpreter service in metropolitan
Washington, DC. The contractor shall assess, evaluate, identify
necessary refinements of the Outcomes and Assessment Information Set
(OASIS) assessment process; and provide its recommendations in the form
of a final report. The proposed contract action is for supplies or
services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with
only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may
identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement
or submit proposals. No solicitation will be issued. A determination by
the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon
responses to this notice is solely for the purpose of determining
whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The simplified
acquisition anticipated award date is September 1, 1999. Posted
