Naval Air Systems Command intends to place provision orders under contract N00019-96-C-0054 and/or a follow-on contract for the acquisition of three (3) CV-22 Flight Training Devices (CV FTD#1, 2,& 3) and the new effort adding Networking Electronic Warfare and Incident Data (NEWID)to the CV-22 Full Flight Simulator (CV FFS#1). Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office, Bldg 3193, 22398 James Rd. Patuxent River, MD 20670 will perform the effort. The three CV FTD are part of a series of MV and CV training simulators being built by Bell-Boeing. The NEWID effort is an enhancement to the CV FFS#1 simulator for High Level Architecture (HLA) protocol for networking simulators, electronic imulation, and flight incident recorder data import. Bell-Boeing is the sole designer and producer of the CV FTD simulators. The Contractor has competitively selected a subcontractor, Flight Safety International, to integrate and build the simulators with options for additional simulators. The Contractor is the only firm capable of providing the requisite technical data, design expertise, and the in-depth knowledge of the design, manufacture, operational and performance characteristics of the CV-22 aircraft and CV FFS and FTD simulators to perform these requirements.
