E-MAIL: Contract Specialist, leefierste@volpe.dot.gov. The Volpe Center intends to purchase up to 35 used and reconditioned flat railcars, suitable for container loading. The requirement is for nominal 89-foot railcars with 70-ton minimum capacity. The contractor shall provide the material, labor and equipment to recondition, inspect, test, deliver and warranty the railcars. All railcars shall be delivered within 270 days from the contract award date. Delivery destinations are six different U.S. Army facilities located in the continental U.S. Detailed specifications will be set forth in the solicitation. The solicitation and any document related to this procurement will be available on the Internet; these documents will be available in text format and reside on a WWW server which may be accessed using Web browsers.
