A -- F414-GE ENGINE COMPONENT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (CIP) SERVICES SOL N00019-98-C-0007 POC Contact: Roderic W. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has a requiremnet for the procurement of aditional Component Improvement Program (CIP) services for the F414 engine. Services required encompass testing, engine data analysis and repairs for the period of approximately 30 August 1999 through 30 September 1999. NAVAIR intends to negotiate a modification to the existing (CIP) Contract N00019-98-C-0007 on a sole source basis to General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE). GEAE is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 F414 aircraft engine and, as such, the only firm currently possessing the requisite technical knowledge and expertise, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment necessary to perform these efforts within the required timeframe.
