The National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST's) Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) has a requirement for an enterprise-wide calendaring and scheduling client/server-based software package that shall be extremely scalable to multiple servers at multiple locations, and which integrates easily with the existing electronic mail infrastructure and the various type of workstations and operating systems currently in use at NIST. Detailed requirements of the software will be outlined in the solicitation document. NIST plans to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQ) utilizing simplified acquisition procedures under the Test Program for Certain Commercial Items authorized under FAR Part 13.5. This requirement will be a 100% small-business set-aside under Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code 7372, and the related small business size standard is $18 million. The period of performance for the software and maintenance will be twelve (12) months from the date of contract award, with the option to extend for four (4) 12-month periods. The RFQ will be released on or about August 19, 1999. All eligible firms may submit a quotation, which will be considered by the agency.
