Y -- CONSTRUCTION OF U.S. DISTRICT COURTHOUSE ANNEX DENVER, CO SOL GS-08P-99-JFC-0010 DUE 092199 POC Dannie Crowder (303)236-7070 ext. 267 SIC CODE -- 1542 The General Services Administration (GSA) is in the process of requesting Technical Proposals (RTP) for the facility construction package for a new United States District Courthouse annex located at 901 19th Street, Denver, Colorado. GSA is soliciting contractors to participate in the "Two-Step Sealed Bidding" process for this project. Step One requires the offeror and major subcontractors (Stone, Masonry, Mechanical and Architectural Woodwork) to submit a technical proposal, without pricing. Each Offeror must be a general contractor, and each offeror may submit up to three (3) major subcontractors for each category. The following is a brief description of the construction. This project has been designed in metric and all contract documents are in metric. This project consists of all labor, equipment, material, transportation, and supervision necessary to construct the new United States District Courthouse annex including site improvements and minor renovation to the existing Byron Rogers U.S. District Courthouse totaling approximately 35,300 gross square meters. The new annex facility is eleven stories and will contain twelve district courtrooms, four magistrate courtrooms and one Special Proceedings courtroom, in addition to associated Judges' chambers, Clerk of Court support space and U.S. Marshals Service space. The facility also consists of approximately 54 underground parking spaces with an additional 70 surface parking spaces. This project contains large quantities of interior woodwork, and the exterior will be clad with stone and brick. Warranties/guarantees, finishes and related management requirements will be included. Construction cost for this project is estimated to be in the range of $70,000,000 to $80,000,000. The design was prepared by the architectural firms of Anderson Mason Dale Architects of Denver, Colorado and HOK of Saint Louis, Missouri. A Preproposal Conference will be held on September 1, 1999, at 10:00 A.M. local time, in the Colorado Conference Room, #278, Building 41, Denver Federal Center, Denver, Colorado. The preproposal conference will provide interested offerors with the opportunity to clarify the technical requirements of the project. Nothing discussed during the conference shall be deemed to modify the requirements of the request for proposal unless followed by a written amendment. The deadline for submission of technical proposals is 1:00 p.m. local time September 21, 1999. Proposals must be received in accordance with technical package.
