The Caribbean National Forest, Puerto Rico, has a requirement for the design and fabrication of 28 trail signs including frames and supports. These signs will be used to delineate trails in the tropical rainforest and will be subjected to intense sunlight year round, up to 200 inches of rain per year, and hurricanes periodically. The Forest Service anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Selection will be based on the most advantageous combination of technical proposal and price. The Request for Proposals is scheduled for release August 23, 1999. Proposal responses are due September 14, 1999. Contracting support for this procurement is being provided by the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. This is a small business setaside procurement.
