School, Project No. 93038. Work for base bid consists of improvement &
repairs of Bldg. Nos. 3000 & 3010. Work includes minor selective
demolition, clearing, removal of building debris, installation of fire
rated doors, corridor windows (Bldg. No. 3000 only), door alarms,
roll-up shutter (Bldg. No. 3010 only), fire alarm system, dedicated
dial-up telephone line connection to a central station. Additive
alternates in descending order consist of installation of a fire
sprinkler system at Bldg. No. 3010; installation of (8) roof mounted
exhaust fans at Bldg. No. 3010; installation of fire rated door frames
at Bldg. No. 3000; installation of electrical disconnects at Bldg.
Nos. 3000 & 3010; and installation of a fire sprinkler system at Bldg.
No. 3000. The work under this contract will be performed at Crownpoint
Boarding School, Crownpoint, New Mexico, approximatley 135 miles west
of Albuquerque, New Mexico via Interstate 40 and State Highway 57 and
approximately 60 miles northeast of Gallup, New Mexico via Interstate
40 and State Highway 57. The buildings are on Federal Government-owned
land. Construction price range is between $1 Million and $5 Million.
Award of any contract resulting from this solicitation shall be subject
to Section (7)(b) of Pub. L. 93-638 (25 U.S.C 450(e) and 41 CFR
1452.226.71) which require that preference in subcontracting be given
to Indian/Alaska Native individuals. Consistent with these authorities
bidders shall advertise and solicit subcontractors and suppliers from
the Tribe(s) on or near the reservation(s) for which the contract will
be performed. The potential awardee shall be required to submit its
plan to implement Section (7)(b) when requested by the Contracting
Officer. Failure by the bidder to submit its plan when required and
implement same after award shall be sufficient reason for non-award of
a contract or termination of contract award for default. This
procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration Program. Pub. L. 100-636. Bid documents will be available
after August 16, 1999 at a cost of $100 per set, non-refundable, and
