Picatinny Arsenal, NJ has a requirement for the contractor to Test the
Demolition Attack Munition, M3 (DAM) to determine if the performance of
DAM is changed when loaded with LX14 and PBXN5, that are produced with
a change of solvent from Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) to Ethyl Acetate
(EAC) during the manufacture. Produce 24 units of Demolition Attack
Munition, M3 (DAM) loaded with new LX14, and regular PBXN-5, and using
the drawing for Part No. 122811 (munition Assembly, Attack,
Demolition). Test 24 units of DAM IAW paragraph 3.4 and paragraph
4.4.3.2 of MIL-D-71199. The purpose of the test is to determine
performance of new LX-14. Use radiography to record results of the
test. Photographs are required to document the target plates before and
after the test. Conduct a Maximum of two failure analyses if any
failure occurs and submit the results in the final report. Provide
final report detailing any differences in processing these explosives,
the performance test results, and provide comparison of the results to
the M3 (DAM)LAT performace data. The contractor shall provide all the
required material, except the new LX-14 which will be provided by the
Government as GFM. Period of performance is 6 months from date of
