The US Geological Survey intends to procure from a sole source, for geologic map compilation in support of Pacific Northwest Geological Mapping Project. Tasks: Geologic map of the Seattle SW. 7.5' quadrangle (a.k.a. Duwarmish Head) ready for open-file review, with level of information, marginal text, and linework consistent with USGS MF map standards: include mylar overlay of linework ready for digital scanning. Standards of acceptability: level of mapping text and unit descriptions for tasks 2 and 3 to conform to USGS standards of geologic mapping for MF maps. Timely performance of the above tasks requires the following knowledge and experience: 1. Experience in geologic mapping of surficial deposits in Tacoma, Gig Harbor and adjacent quadrangles. 2. Knowledge of the King County geologic and well database. 3. Knowledge of subglacial processes and ice dynamics of the puget ice lobe. 4. Experience in publishing geologic maps to USGS specifications.
