42 -- NON-DEVELOPMENTAL, OPEN-CIRCUIT SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS FOR FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT!! DUE 090199 POC SEA 02411G, Pamela Grant, 703-602-0204 ext. 440; SEA 0241, Thomas Bikowski, Contracting Officer, 703-602-0204 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to procure commercially available non-developmental, open-circuit, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) fire fighting systems to outfit the U. S. Navy fleet. NAVSEA will procure SCBAs by issuing one or more Blanket Purchasing Agreement(s) (BPA) under the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS). All companies interested in being evaluated must be on the GSA FSS no later than September 3, 1999. Only SCBA units that fully comply with, and are certified to, Title 42 of the Federal Code of Regulations (42 CFR) Part 84, Subpart H, will be considered. Units shall meet or exceed the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 1981. The SCBA is in the Federal Supply Class (FSC) Group 42, Part I, Section B, of the GSA FSS. During the ordering period of BPAs issued at this time, the Government will periodically review the products on the FSS and may conduct competitions for additional BPAs covering Navy SCBAs. It is anticipated that a draft BPA will be posted on the NAVSEA Contracts World Wide Web home page and will be available for viewing on or about August 15, 1999 at the following site: http://www.contracts.hq.navsea.navy.mil/home.html.
