Technology Fair "Turning Data Into Knowledge -- The New Millennium
Challenge" Featuring a Networking Breakfast, Seminars, Exhibits, and
Government Counseling Wednesday, September 8, 1999 On Wednesday,
September 8, 1999, the DeCA Richmond Regional Technology Fair"Turning
Data Into Knowledge -- The New Millennium Challenge" will take place at
The Officers' and Civilians' Club, on-site at Fort Lee, VA. Fort Lee
has more than 5,900 personnel on-site and is the home of DeCA HQ/FOAS
which manages the worldwide system of DoD commissaries. DeCA has more
than 17,000 personnel worldwide with more than 800 personnel at Fort
Lee. This event is being hosted by the Defense Commissary
Agency/Acquisition Management Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization,
and co-hosted by the Defense Supply Center Richmond, and the Department
of Defense Education Activity Supplies Procurement Office. Other
invited agencies include the Combined Arms Support Command, Army
Logistics Mgt College, U.S. Army Garrison Fort Lee, U.S. Army
Quartermaster Center & School, Project Manager GCSS-Army, 23rd
Quartermaster Brigade, Quartermaster Noncommissioned Officers' Academy,
Readiness Group Lee, Army Procurement Research & Analysis Office,
Defense Finance & Accounting Service, TRADOC Analysis Center Fort Lee,
U.S. Army Information Systems Software Development Center Lee, Weapons
Systems Manager for Clothing & Services, U.S. Army Aviation & Troop
Command, Fort Eustis, and many more! Participants will enjoy a hearty
buffet-style breakfast, enlightening speakers, and a chance to confer
with representatives from local DoD and civilian agencies. The day will
begin with a networking breakfast at 8:00 a.m. From 8:30 a.m. to 10
a.m. presentations will be made by Mr. Crosby Johnson, DeCA, Executive
Director for Support, Ms. Laura Harrell, DeCA, Director Samll and
Disadvantaged Business Utiliaztion Program, Mr. Robert Neal, DoD
Director, Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization Program, on "The
New Procurment Environment and What it Means to the Small Business
Program", Mr. Michael P. McHale, Acting Assistant Administrator for
HubZone Program, on "The HubZone Empowerment Contracting Program", and
Ms. Rosita Parkes, Director, Information Resources Management, DeCA .
This is an easy way to network, meet with key government personnel,
and increase federal market share. Everyone is encouraged to
participate. There is space available for those companies who wish to
display their products or services on a six foot table top display to
the over 200 personnel from various area government agencies who will
