78 -- OVERHEAD RETRIEVAL TARGET SYSTEM POC Robin Smalley (757) 628-4142, Purchasing Agent -- SOURCES SOUGHT The U.S. Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic is seeking sources to provide product discription and technical data on a Overhead Retrieval Target System for Small Arms Firing Range (outdoors). Materials required for installation shall be waterproof (stainless steel or other weather resistant material) or coated with a protective coating that will resist water intrusion in a salt air environment. A single control point shall be installed for operation of all lanes (14) simultaneously. Each lane shall have an on/off switch installed. Targets shall be programmed to stop at set distances from 3 yds. to 1000 inches. The system shall be changeable to accommodate distances associated with any future modifications to courses of fire out to 1000 inches. Current courses of fire require 3, 7, 10, 15, and 25 yard targets, as well as 1000 inches. The travel median (wire/string) shall be protected from gun fire and easily repaired/replaced by CG personnel. Turning targets are not required but are acceptable. Overhead baffles are installed and maybe used to support system if possible. Weight bearing must be determined to ensure the baffle is capable of supporting the system without degrading life expectancy. This procurement will be conducted utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13 and policies in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
