This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. DTRS57-99-Q-80102 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This solicitation is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) FAR Part 13.5. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-13. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 7382, and the small business size standard is $9.0M. The Volpe National Transportation Systems Cente r (Volpe Center) has a requirement to purchase computers to be used for implementation of security requirements for the Enhanced Traffic Management System (ETMS), which is an operational air traffic management system used by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Items cited below shall be Brand Name only. This requirement is for hardware to host the ISS security software, the computers must meet the following specifications: ITEM No. 1: Rackmount IDS NT Engine, Turnkey Intrusion Detection System hosting ISS RealSecure Engine software with the following hardware: IDS NT Engine System hardware includes: PII 400MHz processor with Intel T440BX motherboard; 256MB RAM; (expandable to 512MB); 40X CD-ROM; (2) 10/100 ethernet interface cards; 6.4GB EIDE hard drive; 1.44MB 3.5 inches floppy d rive; mouse; keyboard; 300watt; power supply; 15 inch color monitor and Windows NT Workstation v4.0; Quantity: 10; ITEM No. 2: Rackmount IDS NT Console Turnkey Intrusion Detection System hosting ISS RealSecure Console software and ISS Internet Scanner software System with the following specifications: IDS NT Console System hardware includes: PII 400MHz processor with Intel T440BX motherboard; 128MB RAM (expandable to 256MB); 40X CD-ROM; (1) 10/100 ethernet interface card; 6.4GB EIDE hard drive; 1.44MB 3.5 inch floppy drive; mouse; keyboard; 300watt power supply; 17 inch color monitor; Windows NT Workstation v4.0; and Microsoft Office Professional 97. SYSTEM FEATURES for Items No. 1 and No. 2 should include: 1. A one year on-site hardware service contract for all hardware, seven days per w eek (including holidays), 24 hours per day, same day response; 2. Physically secure Rackmount system with locking panel for power and drives; 3. Hardened operating system and optimized hardware configuration; 4. RealSecure software and Internet Scanner console software should be pre-installed and fully configured for plug and play operation; and 5. All IDS systems must be tested for proper configuration and vulnerabilities using ISS Internet Scanner. A fixed-price purchase order is anticipated.
